What are some tips to manage and understand MASH

Trying to find my way through being recently diagnosed with MASH and sorting through all of the information, including name changes.

  1. Told what?? Not been told ANYTHING at ALL, have symptoms for yrs. now!! I worked for the medical world, my brother died long long ago from non alcoholic cirrosis of the liver. ): ): I'm googling for almost 2 yrs. for my symptoms...

  2. I am alarmed reading that so many people still don’t have help understanding and dealing with their disease. I wrote a book about my disease and my liver transplant, including what to do to stay healthy. It might be helpful to you and is available on Amazon. Don’t Call My Liver Fat by Sue Green.

One of the easier changes to make may be to change what you drink every day. Consumption of sodas, especially diet but also regular, has been shown to cause fibrosis in the liver. (Tseng TS, Nutrients. 2023. PMID:37764782, free PMC article). Stop drinking anything that has sugar or artificial sugar added to it. Read the labels and you may be amazed at the amount in what you are drinking. Coffee is great for your liver but only if you leave out the sugar and artificial sugar. It you must put something in your coffee just use milk. What we all need to do is drink water. Just water.

  3. READ, read and read more. I've been doing that for 1.5 yrs. now. Otherwise, there is little help. I've bitterly learned drs. are not going to talk about it "There is nothing you can do"... to the symptoms. ): ):

  4. TAlk to your doctor. in my case as to WHY no one in the medical world talked to me even 1 minute about my illness, or even told me "you have fatty liver".. I worked for the medical world, even, I would have understood, sigh!! NO excuse!!
